Where can Keri fit?

Now until the end of the weekend in going to be a massive factory production of assignments. Got a 2,500 word one for tox, 4,000 word one for 720 and 1,500 word one for forensic. Tox is all researched, others are not. But 720, I think I could research and write at the same time (as it’s not research heavy, just pick a technique and say why, design experiments and shit). Forensic is based off a lecture, know what I need to say, just need to find references to back me up, plus 1,500 words isn’t much.

Had my 720 test today. 40%. MCQ was okay, knew most of them pretty certain, and a handful of ones that I guessed. First essay was fine since it was about antibodies and just comparing techniques. Second one was shit as it was design an experiment and I don’t really understand the protocol. Only taught the theory and potential applications in class, not how you use it and knowing how to use it would probably be more useful since the class is titled, ‘biomedical research techniques.’

Honestly, this class would have a lot more potential if it was broke into smaller streams that went into the lab and preformed the experiments. That way we know what happens step by step and be more memorable than a 2-hour PowerPoint lecture. Oh well, glad that test is one less thing I have to worry about.

Other than that pretty dull day, but did manage to get to the gym with Dilip and run 4km.

Ben texted me today while he was at a bar for a legalize love thing. Apparently a 45+ cougar was making out with one of his gay guy friends. Then, she tried for Ben. His life sounds way more interesting than mine.

Fell asleep last night at like 10. Woke up at 1 because I’m so worried for my lab test. Studied a bit, but felt nervously sick that I was going to puke. So went back to bed, since I figured, no point in studying if I’m going to be ill. Up now again at 6:30. So I’ll do some last minute cramming.

*yay* 720 and your ridiculousness of having your final *during* week 12 of semester instead of the normal exam period, taking our at least week promised to us for study. Plus, you know the fact that you assigned us a ~4,000 word essay due a week after our final, plus you know the fact that TWO other classes had the SAME idea.

Is it horrible that I’m thinking “maybe I’ll get lucky and get hit by a bus on my walk to Grafton so I don’t have to take this test?”

Stress/Procrastibaking chocolate chip cookies with M&Ms yesterday! I was extremely excited when I realized that I would be storing them into my M&Ms cookie jar that G gave me for my birthday.
And they were a hit!
Compliments:
Ben: “Aw, I wish I had a big sister that would bake me cookies.”
Me: “There’s another box there.” (for him)
Ben: *face of excitement*

Claire: “We’ll keep you around. I was going to say this was the best thing I’ve eaten all day until I realized this is the only thing I’ve eaten. Still really good.”

Anyhoo, haven’t been up to much other than stressing about the 720 test (that’s tomorrow), my three assignments that are two (two on the 4th, one on the 5th), and finals (13th-16th).
But in good news, Mom is coming back to NZ for a business trip. So I get to see her on the 7th-8th, and 15th-17th. Lucky for me I have one night with her when I’m finished with finals, so I can relax. Probably get her to cook me some meals to freeze because I miss her cooking.
Dad’s birthday is coming up on the 5th as well. He wanted Justin and I to come down to celebrate with him. But with finals and assignments, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. So I’ll just see him when I finish and we’ll celebrate late.
Also clocked in my last few hours of work this week. Hopefully next semester I’ll be demonstrating for tox. I need to check with Malcolm on Friday about that because it really depends on the class size.
Guess the other exciting bit of news is that I went to Ben’s friend’s birthday drinks on Friday night. Which is always a bit overwhelming since I meet people who already know my face and name from Facebook stalking, plus whatever stories Ben tells.
Alright, back to study and then visiting my brother to drop off some cookies!

Re: What’s wrong with my coat?

It was raining so Ben let me borrow his raincoat. Just that he’s a lot bigger than me and was like a freaking tent. And I wanted to keep my notes dry, I had my backpack on underneath it.

My boyfriend just sent me this photo he took of me a few months ago when we were in BK that says, “What America does to you. :P”My response was, “In your head, ‘I like big butts and I cannot lie, you other brothers can’t deny, that when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and that round thing in your face you get sprung.”

T_TI miss Popeyes. That’s the first thing I want to eat when I’m back in the States.

Don’t know if you saw this G.

Got Ben and I donuts for breakfast because I’m such a wonderful girlfriend.

Taking place in England the owners of the yard slowly kept adding sections to the contraption so when the squirrel learned one section and got the nuts, they’d add another section. It took over 2 weeks to get to the final product you see in the video.

OMG….

the most beautiful thing ive ever seen

Why don’t we have squirrels in NZ? I want to do this.

Ben came to visit me while I was studying at uni, sees my zoned out face attempting to process information for my 720 assignment. He went to Munchy Market to get a pie and I asked if I wanted anything. I said no, as I already had my energy drink. But he brought me back an ice cream anyway. :)

So for 716 we had to give presentations on our review articles that we wrote. Only three people had to present and it was worth no marks. A 1/5 chance that I would have to go. And my name was the first one called. My response to my lecturer picking my name, “Damn.” It was pretty shit since I hadn’t practice my talk at all. Oh well, whatever. B+ on the assignment though, was hoping for more but my lecturer wanted more on mechanism and less on clinical. I wrote about clinical since I find it more interesting. Oh well.

My flatmate and two of his mates came home drunk in the middle of the afternoon, celebrating turning in an assignment. They brought with them a shopping cart. Too stressed out right now, but I really wished that I could have just sit and drink with them (I could have used it after that train wreck of a presentation). Not really sure what we’re going to be doing with the shopping cart.
